Social Skills Groups

The farm and its animals offer a rich environment to develop social skills. The students will play games, interact with the animals and even work collaboratively in the garden to help develop their social skills.

Each group will have a minimum of 4 students. The groups will be tailored to the needs of the students, but will cover themes including:

 

• Meeting and greeting people

• Conversation skills

• Reading nonverbal communication

• Navigating problems 

• Being Flexible

• Emotional regulation

• Working in a group

​

Groups will meet at Wild Kid Acres in Edgewater, Maryland for 45 minutes, once a week for 6 weeks.  The groups will be run by an Occupational Therapist. Please call Katie on 240-421-3154 for further information.
